Celebrating an American Icon: Billy Graham

At age 99, Rev. Billy Graham receives his ultimate calling.

Over the years, no one has spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to more people in more countries or had the opportunity to be a voice of influence and encouragement to more world leaders than Rev. Billy Graham.  As a fellow laborer of Jesus Christ, I don’t mourn his death.  I celebrate his impact on this world, and I rejoice with him as he gets to see Jesus face to face, passing from this life to life eternal.

Below, is a great homage to his accomplishments from Fox News, yet I am confident all the accolades we could bestow upon him pale in comparison to the one he cherished most: “Well done good and faithful servant.  Enter into your reward.”

His death should serve as a reminder that we all face mortality.  May we be encouraged to live a life that honors the Lord because we never know when our time here on earth is done.

As we remember Rev. Graham and pray for his loved ones who mourn his passing, we could pray for the Lord to raise up another Billy Graham, but I pray the Lord raises up thousands in his place to pierce the dark veil of this world with the light of Jesus Christ.

  1. So true! His life was a blessing to many.
As followers of Christ, we should all be praying, as the Lord has said.
    Luke 10:2 (ESV)
And he (Jesus) said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.
