Chip-Scan – Convenience Comes with A Price

Technology revolution or Revelation?

Have you ever lost your keys or wallet?  Have you ever left your wallet, ID, or credit card at home?

In what may have been science fiction a few decades ago, one man has finally shown how an old idea can go mainstream.

Similar to the video above, an experiment was conducted back in 2004 by a nightclub in Barcelona.  The latest attempt, however, illustrates how easy it would be for RFID chips to be used by anyone at any location that uses proximity mobile payments…or other means of future scans.

Proceed with caution!

The Bible mentions something very similar:

“Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name” (Revelation 13:16-17 ESV).

The word “mark” in the passage above is translated from the Greek word charagma (χάραγμα), literally meaning a scratching or etching.  So, the imagery intended is that of a tattoo.

RFID tattoos have been available for years, courtesy of Somark Innovations.  When first introduced, the tattoos didn’t have a proven application, but they have since been adapted to tattoo mice.

The technology required to implement the mark of the beast has been available for many years, but now it’s being tested for mainstream use.  Please don’t be deceived by the promise of ease, convenience, and security.

“If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb” (Revelation 14:9-10 ESV).

  1. I’ll stick with losing my keys, every once in a while. I don’t mind getting mad at myself. It keeps me from getting mad at someone else. In the case of the chip, I think it is the mark of the beast, a very bad sign.

I am one of those who still thinks cash is king, or, better yet, gold and silver.
