Iraq: ISIS Kills Fleeing Women and Children

In a stunning act of desperation, Islamic State forces opened fire on civilians fleeing embattled Fallujah, Iraq on Friday, killing at least 30 – mainly woman and children, according to NBC News.

“ISIS militants told men that if they want to leave the town, so they are free to do that, under one condition, not to take their families with them, and if they tried to do so they would kill them,” the source said.

Fallujah was overtaken by the Islamic State more than two years ago, but has seen a resurgence of activity since the end of May when Iraqi troops launched a new air and land offensive, backed by a U.S.-led coalition.
