Will IRS Commissioner Koskinen Be Impeached?

As you can see from the video above, hearings are underway to determine if IRS Commissioner Koskinen should be impeached.

For those unfamiliar with the proceedings, it all stems from accusations of IRS targeting concerning conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status and the subsequent multi-agency investigations looking into the emails of Lois Lerner, former director of the IRS Exempt Organizations Unit.

On May 18, 2016, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) introduced a resolution (HR 737) to censure Commissioner Koskinen, in advance of House Judiciary Committee’s hearings tomorrow, according to the House Oversight website.

Unfortunately, Mr. Koskinen will not be in attendance during those proceedings, according to The Washington Post and Fox News (below).

Image how the average U.S. citizen would be treated if we displayed such flagrant conduct.

No doubt little will result from this show of accountability, because those elected to office and those appointed to positions of power (i.e. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner’s tax evasion) hold themselves to different standards than those they claim to represent.
